Expressive abstract portrait depicting an emotionally charged muse. This piece delves into the intersection of my abstract explorations and my figurative background. This muse showed up with a combination of peace and melancholy. As I sit to paint and let the creative juices flow, I am still amazed how these muses find their way onto my canvas. This was a first for me, generally painting figures arise from sketching feelings which end up taking form. Then comes adding the paint, which usually is a soft, patient, and intimate process of blending expressive love between the medium, the surface, and the flowing feelings.  However, this one was rough, spontaneous and messy. It emerged using a spatula, no sketch involved. I love it!

Artists Statement:
... My art is a quiet pause in a fast-moving world, an invitation to notice the little moments that hold our stories together. Whether I paint soft figurative scenes or expressive abstract works, my focus is always on the emotional footprints we leave in each other’s lives. Born in Puerto Rico and shaped by the vibrant colors of South Florida, I’m inspired by the everyday beauty around me: a gesture, a memory, a shared glance, the changing colors of the sea. My work explores themes of motherhood, identity, resilience, healing, and the tender spaces we move through as humans. I paint to honor both joy and complexity to celebrate love, connection, and the strength found in rebuilding. Through each piece, I hope to offer a moment of calm, a sense of warmth, and a reminder that even “the little things in between”, have beauty worth pausing for.
